God declared that He gave us this ability as part of His covenant with our forefather, Abraham. Jesus Christ died so that the blessing God promised Israel would be given to us too, "He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit." Galatians 3:13-14 NIV 

But along with wealth creation, God also wants us to have a right attitude about what we have been made stewards of - no matter how large or small. Having unrestricted access to this promise isn't automatic just because you are a Christian. 

Prosperity messages have their place, however Galatians 6:7 puts it quite simply in stating, "You can never make a fool out of God."

Despite what you might have be told, your money matters, really do matter to God. So much so that there are 2,350 verses in the Bible on how to handle money, wealth and possessions. And 16 of the 38 parables deal with money and possessions.
